parts of the wedding invitation

Main Invitation Card

This formally invites your guests to your wedding day, and contains your names (full or nicknames, your personal preference), wedding date and time, and your venue/s.

This may be the biggest card in the suite, our usual size is a 5.5 x 8.5” or can be a smaller 5 x 7”.

entourage Card

Most common for Filipino weddings, this card details the names of the entourage and their parts in the wedding ceremony.

Can be the same size as the Main Invitation, smaller if the list is short, or in some cases would need 2 pages (or back to back print) if the list is quite long

rsvp Card

Also known as a response card, this encourages the guests in responding to let the couple or planner know how many guests are confirming their attendance to the wedding. It usually contains the contact person, contact details, and the guest’s deadline for confirming attendance.

For a more traditional way of responding (usually in the US or Canada), the guests confirm by mailing back their RSVP card to the couple. If doing this option, an envelope to fit the card must be included in the suite with the mailing address already printed on the envelope.

The usual size and smallest size possible for mailing is 3.5 x 5”. This may also be included in the Details Card or Booklet if need not be mailed.

map Card

This is recommended if you have guests coming from out of town, or if the reception is far from the ceremony venue. This can also be a nice accent to your suite by highlighting your venues through illustrations, especially for scenic venues and destination weddings.

May also include travel/accommodation details to make it more convenient for your guests.

Any size will do, as long as it fits the content. May also be included in a Details Booklet Card.

attire Card

Serves as a dress code guidance for your guests, and you can add a unique execution for the attire color palette such as fabric or paint swatches.

A smaller 3.5 x 5” card will do, or may be included in the Details Card.

details Card

Instead of having separate cards, you may have the RSVP, Map, and/or Attire Card combined into one card. Feel free to add any other information needed for the guidance of your guests.

Depending on the length of the content, it can be a smaller 4 x 6” card or as big as a letter-sized booklet to fit the contents.

accent/cover Card

Not a necessity but nice to have, couples want to package their invites and show more of their personalities with an Accent or Cover card often with a design of their logos, portrait illustration, or maybe an excerpt of their favorite poem. Anything goes, really.

Size varies, depending on the artist’s recommendation.

envelope

It’s most common to just have one envelope that holds all the cards included in your wedding invitation package. It is addressed with your guests’ names for a more personalized and easier distribution.

In some cases, for more formal weddings or if your wedding invitations are mailed to the guests (usually in the US/Canada), we use a second envelope called an Outer Envelope. This is slightly bigger than the inner envelope and printed with the guests’ mailing address. This also protects your inner envelope and invitation cards during the mailing.

Depending on the invitation card size, usually an A9 or A7 envelope size.

While more and more couples would like to express their love stories and personalities through their wedding invites, don’t be limited with these cards! We can incorporate as much details and story as you want to make the invitation more YOU.
